Wells I called Roy Brandenburger as requested to tell him that we did not propose to answer Mr. Perlman any further than we already had. Mr. Brandenburger stated that the CIC of MCA in session on Monday roted to have their paid secretary combat the charges of the article following any word from Monsanto. I told Mr. Brandenburger not to pursue this as we wanted nothing further done. ' Mr. F. Stent, an owner of the Chronicle, called Mr. Brandenburger to say that this was the second article in the Chronicle in the past two weeks that was weak on facts and was detrimental to Monsanto (the first on Astroturf). Mr. Stent suggested a meeting with Mr. Branden burger plus other members of Monsanto to discuss the situation to avoid future happenings of this type and to discuss how to undue the damage done on Aroclor. Again, I told Mr. Brandenburger to do nothing.
