New York Toronto May 30, I960
A m eeting w as held in Sarnia on May 25 for the purpose of d iscu ssin g the o v e ra ll subject of TMJu in Canada. In addition to the m em bers of our Operating Com m ittee, D rs. Warren and Houston w ere also in attendance.
In sum m ary, D r. Warren rem inded us that he had con tacted the health authorities in B ritish Columbia for the purpose of clearing the way for Standard of B. C. who planned to and now are distributing gasolines containing TML. He also advised the Chief of Occupational Health D ivision, Department of National Health and W elfare, Ottawa, concerning the sam e subject. N either health group raised any objections.
It w as decided that we should p roceed with advising the industrial health authorities in the other nine provinces, even though the distribution o f g asolin e containing TML m ight be rem ote. This m ove would help us m aintain a now satisfactorily established relationship with these people, would continue our reputation a s the lead ers in antiknock compound distribution in Canada, and would, to a degree, help us m aintain our position of lead ersh ip w ith resp ect to com petition. It w as explained that none of these contacts would in any way violate the agreem ent which our parent company had signed.
The contacts mentioned in the foregoing w ill be handled by Dr. Warren.
The d eta ils of m y le tte r of May 13 governing the control of distributing copies of the TML m edical report prepared by Dr. Kehoe were reviewed for the benefit of the Com m ittee, and all p a rties are In full knowledge of our p o licy .
