I. RAW MATERIALS
A. Tributyl Phosphate
A total of six drums of TBP from a shipment of twenty drums were returned to Tenneco Fords because of contamination. Samples were submitted to the Analytical Laboratory for IR scans. Quality Control analysis of other drums showed the remainder of the ship ment to be within specification.
II. IN-PROCESS
A. 10-5R
The most recent lot of 10-5R was produced under LOP to reduce the Ionol level in this resin due to the anticipated shortage. The level was reduced from 5 to 2^ pounds per batch.
Heat stability testing was performed each ten hours across the entire run, and results of standard Quality Control heat stability testing showed borderline, in-specification and out-of-spec ifica~ tion results. Samples submitted to Flemington R&D for mill, stabil ity showed this material to be slightly worse than a control from a previous lot produced with 5 pounds Ionol per batch. Because of these results, it was recommended that the Ionol level should not be further reduced in this formulation.
III. FINISHED PRODUCT
A, Dispersion Resin
The latest runs of 1738 and 1742 in "A" Plant yielded almost 100% off-grade due to low relative viscosity. The reason for this high output of off-grade material was the large number of vents nece ssary due to the DHW-80 with Darling oleic acid. Several reductions in catalyst levels were made, but were unsuccessful in raising the relative viscosity levels sufficiently.

IV. COMPOUND PLANT
A. Firestone 9300 (225/16K)
A total of thirty truckload and one railcar shipments of Fire stone 9300 type were received by the Compound Plant. Quality Control analysis of this material showed no unusual properties during routine testing.
Samples of several loads were submitted to the Analytical Lab oratory for residual VCM readings.
B. Hooker 282 (200/12R)
One truckload shipment of Hooker 282 type was received by the Compound Plant. Samples of the load were also submitted for re sidual VCM readings.
V. MISCELLANEOUS
A. Spray-Dried BR-501
Five samples of spray-dried BR-501 were submitted by Flemington Pilot Plant along with a standard dried sample for comparative evaluation. Quality Control tests run were bulk density, PTU, particle size, volatiles, Brookfield and Severs viscosities.
As in previously-tested samples, lower bulk density values were noted, and other properties seemed about equal. Slightly higher PTU values were also noted on the spray-dried samples.
