The two copies of the agreement have been completed here and are returned herewith; please have one copy processed at your end and returned to us In turn, we are a bit confused by your comments on the six samples of lead stabilizers 'which we sent you. You say that you have the needed information on three of the National Lead samples, but you make no mention of the fourth, the normal salycilate (Dutch Boy Hormasal), on which you also have full information. They you speak of "the white lead and dry carbonate" as if two substances were involved here. The basic carbonate which we sent came from MacGregor and we will secure the desired information for you for them. The basic silicate sent is not the same as R a t i o n a l e Tribase E and we will here also" have t.o get the information for you from Eagle-Picher. Finally, this investigation has to do solely with lead compounds used as stabilizers in the formulation of vinyl plastics, and the use of any such compounds in paints is in no way involved. According to my notes on our conference with Dr. Suskind on March 28th, the six stabilizer compounds Robert A. Kehoe, M. D. Page 2 Au gu st 16, 1951 as supplied by us were to be incorporated in a bland vehicle and tested for both primary irritation and sensitisation. This was to be on 200 subjects if necessary, at a maximum cost to us of f2,70Q, but on fewer subjects and with a corres ponding reduction in cost if positive findings occurred with a lesser number of subjects.
