Information about the method: DIN EN 17681-1 covers extractable PFAS only. However, as polymers are also regulated according to Regulation (EU) 2019/1021, a more aggressive approach is used to cover regulatory requirements better. The applied method, for example, hydrolyzes perfluoroalkyl acrylate compounds (FTA) to their corresponding perfluoroalkyl alcohols (FTOH) using NaOH, e.g. 6:2 FTA is hydrolyzed to 6:2 FTOH. Esterbound fluorinated side chains of polymers are also covered partially. Therefore, the results represent an analytically feasible total content. /
Information zur Methode: Mit dem in der DIN EN 17681-1 beschriebenen Verfahren werden nur extrahierbare PFAS erfasst. Gem VO (EU) 2019/1021 sind jedoch auch Polymere reguliert, weshalb auf ein aggressiveres Verfahren zurckgegriffen wird, das die regulatorischen Anforderungen besser abdeckt. Durch das angewendete Verfahren werden z.B. Perfluoralkylacrylatverbindungen (FTA) mittels NaOH zu den korrespondierenden Perfluoralkylalkoholen (FTOH) hydrolisiert, z.B. wird 6:2 FTA zu 6:2 FTOH hydrolisiert. Zudem werden zum Teil auch estergebundene fluorierte Seitenketten von Polymeren miterfasst. Die Ergebnisse geben damit einen analytisch machbaren Gesamtgehalt wieder.
