From: Ken Beardlsey- KC Customer: Gentlemen: There is a recent Department of Labor Occupational Safe and Health Administration publication dated February 10th this year regarding exposure to asbestos. We have had a reading from the local office in Kansas City,Missouri, that if we fulfill the type requirements presently being followed in the warehouse here, it should meet all problems that would develop in handling of this material. We are presently ordering all materials in shrinkwrapped pallet quantities and are not breaking pallets in the warehouse, but selling only full pallet quantities of any of the asbestos' that are being LTL shipped out of the warehouse here. They feel this will meet their basic requirements for the free asbestos or exposure to asbestos in the air if this is followed in all locations, they feel this should not create any problems meeting the inspections that may happen in the field at any given location. Therefore, X would recommend that if you are not ordering presently asbestos in palletized and shrinkwrapped that this be done to enable us to fulfill our obligation to the U.S. Department of Labor.
