From recent news accounts and ocher hearsay observations, it's claar that James W. Gunter, the Washington-based official in charge of PCB regulations for the EPA, is a major source of this hysteria. John Craddock can fill you in. Do you know this guy -- and is there some way we can ' reason with him or go over his head and get him turned off? He's doing a lot of damage by dealing from a position of "authority" and spouting all sorts of inflammatory and downright inaccurate information. I'm also sure, but I can't prove it, that his public statements are contributing to decisions to file lawsuits against us. I'd like to discuss this further with at least you and John Craddock as soon as we can get together. It might even make sense to put it on the agenda for the next EPS staff meeting.
