Kehoe, Dear Dr. Keboe: Referring to our telephone conversation today regarding the cs.se, I have looked up the doctors mentioned in Jack Durham's letter and find the following. Dr. Charles Dorris snd Dr. Alexander Gettler were mentioned on page 494 of your booklet entitled "The Behavior of Lead in the Animal Organism" which was re printed in the American Journal of Hygeine in March, 1931. Dr. Norris is a graduate of Yale 'with M.D. of Columbia, was on the Cornell faculty 1898 - 1900, Columbia faculty 1902 - 1904, was a. director of Bellevue and associated hospitals from 1804 on, and has been Chief Medical Examiner of New York City from 1913 on. He has also been associated with Cornell Medical School, Fordham, and the New York Academy of Medicine. Dr. Gettler is Assistant Pathologist at Bellevue and a professor at New York University. I discussed this case with Mr. Webb and entirely aside from the medical viewpoint, he thought that Jack Durham should call on Mrs. ^BjHBj^Dj^^swer to her letter. I also called up Jack and told him to telephone to Srs^HH|Hp at Colorado Springs to make an appointment but before doing so to get in touci^wShLIr. Acholt, an attorney in Denver, whom we used in the American Research Laboratories case, and to have Mr. Acholt or one of his assistants accompany him on his visit to Mrs. Sullivan. We of course told Jack to not make any commitments or discuss the company's stand in the matter in any way and to be strictly governe^bythe advice of the attor ney but to get as much of a story as possible from Mrs. and give us a. full report on what he was able to find out, which of course w^w!u~L send along to you. We are naturally anxious about this situation because even though we might know that we are entirely in the clear, the fact that such gentlemen as Dr. Norris and Dr. Gettler requested the organs for examination snd- their condition "that the information revealed could be made public by them", is certainly disturbing. We will be much interested in being kept closely advised of the medical side of this situation after you have had an opportunity to hear from Dr. Sanders. C: C
