Owens, whose invention of the automatic bottle blowing machine in 1903 revolutionized the glass industry, was marked last month in nationwide ceremonies. Placjues commemorating the birth of this inventive genius were unveiled on September 3rd at 34 plants of the Owens-Illinois Glass Company in 33 American cities, around the country.
