Section I - INTRODUCTION
7-Eleven, Inc. Inspection Date 12/11/2019
PURPOSE OF THE INSPECTION
EPA Region 6 inspectors Lee McMillan and Chuck Ruple arrived at the Exxon/7-Eleven Service Station at 1:09 PM on December 11, 2019 for an unannounced retail sale of general use pesticides inspection. We met with Amhed Toe, Franchise Owner of the company and Store Manager. I presented my credentials to Mr. Toe and informed him that this was an EPA inspection to review all pesticides available for sale regarding compliance with the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).
FACILITY DESCRIPTION
7-Eleven Inc. is a Japanese-American international chain of convenience stores, headquartered in Dallas, Texas. The chain was founded in 1927 as Tote'm Stores until it was renamed in 1946. Its parent company since 2005, Seven-Eleven Japan Co., Ltd., operates, franchises, and licenses 68,236 stores in 17 countries as of June 2019. This franchised store location is known as Store# 35405 located at 3716 Maple Ave. in Dallas, Texas. The store operates 24 hours a day and has a total of 12 employees.
Section II - OBSERVATIONS
During the inspection, the EPA inspectors reviewed seven products sold in the store and took photos. The products were as follows:
Off! Deep Woods Towelettes Off! Mosquito Lamp Off! Deep Woods Insect Repellant Clorox Disinfecting Wipes 7 Select Disinfecting Wipes 7 Select Bleach Formula 409 Multi-Surface Cleaner
All seven products were properly registered with the EPA, had registration numbers, and labeling were in compliance with FIFRA.
Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN
EPA Region 6 inspectors Lee McMillan and Chuck Ruple conducted a closing conference at 7-Eleven at 1:24 PM on December 11, 2019 for the inspection. I observed no areas of concern at the time of the inspection.
