Its asbestos-cement structure makes it a strong, durable closely related companion material to the concrete slab itself. Service Transite Air Duct cannot burn. Completely inorganic, it will not rot or give off odors. It will not crush, dent or deform when concrete is poured. Because of its rigidity, each section of duct will maintain its grade and shape during installation and after. And being non-metallic throughout, a Transite Air Duct system will not rust or scale. Joints Transite Air Duct is quickly and simply joined by Ductite Tape. Sheet metal sleeves and other locally approved jointing methods may also be used. No Encasement Required Transite Air Duct may be laid directly on the pre pared bottom without encasement in concrete, special supports or anchoring. When Ductite Tape is used for assem bly, the joints also need not be encased in concrete. Installation Transite Air Duet is sup plied in standard diameters from 3 in. to 8 in. as shown in table below. Its long 10-ft lengths reduce the number of sections needed with resultant fewer joints. Duet is more easily laid to grade. Its relatively light weight permits oneman handling of full lengths of more commonly-used sizes. Because of Tran sited strength, it needs no special cau tion in handling--no "babying" on the job. Duct may be quickly field-cut to any length required.
