It certainly is not from any lack of interest on our part. In any event, I have had the opportunity (since his December 28, 1965 letter to you) to study and review in still further detail with Dr. Boyer the most appropriate sort of proposal to make to you. The results of this are embodied in the enclosed specimens (four copies of each of the associated documents being provided) for your consideration. While these have not as yet been fully reviewed or endorsed by Dow management, we feel that our company (and, likewise, C.N.R.S.) would go along with it and that, in all honesty, the entire proposal constitutes a reasonable and realistic basis for our mutually advantageous association in the matter at hand. With specific reference to one of the comments in your letter of December 15* 1965 to Dr. Boyer and Paragraph 8 of the proposed Corollary Letter, we believe (taking the exemptions into account) that ten years is not an undue period to keep in confidence the things that should remain secret. We are looking forward to your response to this. You may be sure that we are prepared to recommend the present proposal for execution by Dow and, if you are agree able to it, will accordingly provide suitable formal papers for the purpose of completing the arrangements between us.
