Recentchemicalanalysesofpooledhuman bloodsamplesand selectedanalysesofbiotasamplesfiom &verse regionsoftheUnitedStateshave shown a generalconsistencyinthedetectiornateand detected levelsofPFOS therein.BecausePFOS isuniquetoFCs, PFOS may be dist'nbutedinthegreater environmentasa resulotftheuseand dispositionfproductscontaininFgCs. Though limit4 thedata suggestdig increasinlgevelsofPFOS inhinnanbloodpamlleltheintroductioannd volume/useofFCs. Itisunknown whetherthePFOS inhuman blood isdue toFC exposuresintheresidencferom theuse of products,ortotheslowbiowcumwation ofFC inthefoodweb duetowidespreaddispersioonfFCs throughmultiplesources.

The top2 cm of sedimentwillbe retainedforanalysis.AIMTnativelya, stainlesssteelspoon or scoop will be used.
7.3.7 POTW Sampling
Battellewillprovideappropriatesample containersand detailedwritteninstructiontso thedesignated POTW officiawlh,o willcollecteachinfluen(tpost-chlotinatiosnl)u,dge,and effluenstample. Battelle willassume custodyofthesamplesand willbe responsibleforpackingand shippingthe'samplesto BCL foranalysis.Once theheld samplesarecollectedt,hequalitycontrolsamplesarecollectedas described inSection 11A-2.
7.3.8 Landfdl Leachate Sampling
