EEI 2025 - DOE Dep. Secretary Danly Speaker Invitation.pdf
Importance:
High
Hey Izzy! First and foremost, apologies for the delay in getting back to you on this one Totally understand the Secretary not being able to do the event (heard about the Alaska trip -- sounds super cool!).
For your offer on helping out with other Leadership team/DOE officials, we would love to take you up on that offer and wanted to see if you would be willing to fast track a request to Deputy Secretary James Danly now that he has been officially confirmed by the Senate (Big congrats by the way!)? Attached is a formal invitation from Edison Electric Institute's (EEI) Interim President & CEO Pat Vincent-Collawn inviting him to address EEI's 2025 annual meeting and thought leadership forum, on the morning of Tuesday, June 3. We would also create a private opportunity for him to meet and engage with the CEOs who serve on our Board. Please let me know if this is possible and if the Deputy Secretary would be willing to do it. We would love to have him!
In addition, and something to put on your early radar, we are going to be circling back with you shortly with another scheduling ask of the Secretary as we would like to invite him to our September Board of Directors/CEO meeting which is held out at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, CO on September 2-4. EEI's Board meetings are invitation-only/closed to the media and we expect more than 200 senior executives from our industry will attend, including about 50 CEOs from EEI's Board. Again, more to come
On either of these, please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
Thanks, Eric

Thanks so much for following up and clarifying this. Unfortunately, I just had a chance to get some more clarity on his travel and he will still be away on travel through the entire week of the 2nd of June.
He wanted me to thank you so much for the invitation and he will be sad to miss it. Would you be interested in another member of our leadership team attending in his place?
If so, I'd be happy to connect you!
Thank you for understanding the crazy schedule right now and have a great weekend!
Izzy

Hey Izzy! Just to clarify (as you referenced him being back in town in time) our convention is down in New Orleans, not DC.
Would love it if he could swing down on his way back to DC.
Thanks!
Eric

Hi Eric!
Thank you very much for reaching out, I hope things have been great for you as well.
We really appreciate the invite; this seems like an awesome event. Right now, we are scheduled to be traveling the first week of June but do not have a return flight booked yet. With that being said, the 4th may work but I just wanted to put that on your radar.
Should the 4th work, do you mind filling out the attached event request form with a few more details for our team to take a look at?
Thank you and have a great week!
Izzy

Hey Izzy -- Hope you all are doing well! Attached is an invitation from the Edison Electric Institute's (EEI) Interim President & CEO Pat Vincent-Collawn inviting Secretary Wright address EEI's 2025 annual meeting and thought leadership forum, which will be held June 2-4 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans.
As noted in the invitation, we would love to hear about the Secretary's priorities for the Department of the Energy and his views on a range of energy-related issues.. Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, and Bill Gates were keynote speakers during recent meetings and called for increased partnership between technology companies and electric companies to solve some of our greatest societal and technological challenges. The Department of the Energy plays an important role in expanding these efforts.
We would like to welcome the Secretary as a closing keynote speaker on Wednesday morning, June 4. In addition to the keynote session, we would be happy to create a private opportunity for the Secretary to meet and engage with electric company CEOs who serve on EEI's Board of Directors. As a planning matter, the closing session would last approximately 45 minutes. We also have keynote sessions on June 2 and June 3, and we are happy to work with you all on the format and specific day/time to accommodate the Secretary's schedule. Last year's event attracted an audience of more than 1,300 electric company and technology company executives, industry investors, policymakers, corporate customers, and media.
Thank you in advance and we really appreciate your consideration. As always, please let me know if you have any questions or need additional information.
Thanks, Eric

Pat Vincent-Collawn
Interim President and CEO
The Honorable James Danly Deputy Secretary, United States Department of Energy 1000 Independence Ave, SW Washington, DC 20024
Dear Deputy Secretary Danly:
On behalf of the Edison Electric Institute's (EEI's) Board of Directors, congratulations on your Senate confirmation. EEI's Board is pleased to invite you to address our annual meeting and thought leadership forum, which will be held June 2-4 at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans.
EEI's member companies--America's investor-owned electric companies--are committed to delivering the reliable, secure energy that powers our nation's economy. Today, demand for electricity is growing at the fastest pace in decades, thanks to new data centers, the rapid growth of Al technologies, and the onshoring of manufacturing. EEI's member companies are committed to working together with the Department of Energy to advance public policies and regulations that benefit our customers and meet their growing and evolving needs for electricity.
Our industry CEOs and our audience would appreciate learning more about your priorities for the Department of Energy and your views on a range of energy-related issues. Elon Musk, Jensen Huang, and Bill Gates were keynote speakers during recent meetings and called for increased partnership between technology companies and electric companies to solve some of our greatest societal and technological challenges. The Department of Energy plays an important role in expanding these efforts.
We would like to welcome you as a keynote speaker on Tuesday morning, June 3. In addition to the keynote session, we would be happy to create a private opportunity for you to meet and engage with electric company CEOs who serve on EEI's Board of Directors. As a planning matter, the session would last approximately 30 minutes. Last year's event attracted an audience of more than 1,300 electric company and technology company executives, industry investors, policymakers, corporate customers, and media.
Thank you for your consideration. Should your team have any questions, please ask them to contact
