Even when installed, the practicality of shipping these wasteshundreds of miles fordisposal- seems questionable. , In the interim, the only practical recommendation we- can offer our plants and customers regarding the. disposal of these materials is the use of properly operated sanitary land fills. These land fills must not be located near water . systems, both-surface and underground. . Monitoring of rivers, creeks, lakes, etc. surrounding the fill, especially after.heavy rainfall, will aid in assuring that'PCB'3 are not escaping into the environment. It is my considered opinion that with proper cover by clay, sand or soil the Askarels, which cling to solids tenaciously, will not migrate and therefore should not harm the environment. .
