Matt,
On Robert's behalf, here's our response:
On background: In 2008, EPA conducted a human health risk assessment for triclosan. EPA did not identify any risks at levels that would cause the agency concern. The agency plans to complete an updated risk assessment of triclosan as part of a review process that all pesticides must undergo every 15 years. EPA expects to release its final report in 2019.

Subject: WebMD question regarding triclosan
Hi Robert, I'm writing an article on the potential health impacts of triclosan, which I understand EPA regulates as a pesticide in some products.
I want to confirm that I have the most up to date EPAs position on triclosan's safety. Here's what I have found on your website: link. Based on what I read there, I plan to include the following passage (subject to some editing as this in draft form still) in my article:
"In 2008, an EPA review determined that exposure to triclosan did not put people's health at risk. This year, the agency plans to complete a rvaluation of triclosan's safety as part of a review process that all pesticides must undergo every 15 years. The EPA expects to release its final report in 2019."
Can you confirm the accuracy of this statement and, if necessary, suggest factual changes?
Thank you so much!
