I arrived at Xtralight LED Lighting Solutions at 11:45 PM on January 13, 2026, for an unannounced inspection. I presented my credentials to Mr. Ben Bertens, General Manager, and informed him that I was there to conduct an EPA inspection to determine compliance with the Federal Insecticide Fungicide Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). The scope of the inspection would be to review documents and any pesticide products for evaluation of the compliance with FIFRA (40 CFR Subpart 169.3 - Inspections). FACILITY DESCRIPTION Xtralight LED Lighting Solutions is a major American lighting designer and manufacturer of commercial and industrial LED lighting fixtures, headquartered in Houston, Texas. Founded in 1986, the company has spent nearly 40 years designing, engineering, and manufacturing energy-efficient lighting. Xtralight produces 99% of its lighting fixtures on a made-to-order basis and has no direct-to-consumer business. The company has less than 50 employees. Xtralight's annual revenues are under $10 million according to management. Section II - OBSERVATIONS On January 13, 2026, I sat with Mr. Ben Bertens and discussed the company's products. I asked Mr. Bertens about a UV light product it had marketed in 2020 that made pesticidal claims. Mr. Bertens informed me that during 2020, the company had been prepared to produce the UVC Ligthing product, but has since discontinued the product in 2022. I informed Mr. Berten that the product was still being marketed on the company website. Mr. Bertens stated that the company uses their website like a catalog to inform customers of the company's capability and the UVC light product was not intended for sale. Mr. Bertens made arrangement to remove the product from the website immediately. At approximately 12:11 PM, I toured and inspected the Xtralight facility. During the investigation I viewed the Fabrication Area, Raw Material Warehouse, Assembly Area, and Shipping Department. No photos were taken during the inspection. The tour was concluded at 12:25 PM. Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN I conducted a closing conference with Mr. Bertens at 12:27 PM on January 13, 2026. The company did not have any sales information for the UVC Lighting product. The company's website advertising the product was addressed while I was on site. I was also informed that the company terminated its EPA Establishment Number in 2024. There were no areas of concern found during the inspection. I concluded the inspection and exited the facility at 12:30 PM. 2 6ENFORM-019-8 (10/31/2019) Section IV - FOLLOW UP Xtralight LED Lighting Solutions Inspection Date 1/13/2026 No information was requested by EPA after exiting the facility on January 13, 2026. No additional concerns were found, and no additional information was requested.
