Type and Purpose of Inspection Evaluation of Construction General Permit Compliance IV. Facility Description The site is a project to install gas line along a length of Cranberry Highway. The installation involves cutting a trench in the existing pavement, installing pipe, and backfilling and repaving. V. Inspection Mr. Spejewski arrived at approximately 11:00. A. Opening Conference Mr. Spejewski asked for a supervisor and was directed to Gualberto Madieros. Mr. Madieros said he worked for New England Utility Construction (NEUC) and described the project. Mr. Madieros provided a NUEC contact for further information about permitting; Bobby Bonollo 617-293-0585. B. Facility Tour A gas line along a section of roadway sloping down to a bridge over a stream was being installed. Two catchbasins were in the roadway downhill of the active trench, with a gravel stockpile between the active trench and the catchbasins. Mr. Madieros said the catchbasin covers were bolted down, so he could not install sediment bags. Mr. Madieros said they had haybales ordered to put around the bridge. Mr. Spejewski noted that haybales would also effectively protect the catchbasins from sediment. Mr. Madieros said that the site was cleaned and swept each day, and pointed out on site the sweeper attachment for a bobcat vehicle. D. Closing Conference Mr. Spejewski told Mr. Madieros that he would discuss permit issues with Mr. Bonollo. On March 8, 2023, Mr. Spejewski called Mr. Bonollo. Mr. Bonollo said the project was only installing gas line along one stretch of highway. He did not know off - hand the total area of disturbance but estimated 10,000 linear feet of two - foot wide trench, resulting in about a half - acre total.
