Leon Goldman, M.D. Director of Dermatology Department of Dermatology Cincinnati General Hospital Cincinnati, Ohio
Dear Leon:
I am forwarding to you, herewith, as the Head of the Department of Dermatology, the check of Mr* Jules Gordon, Chairman of the Committee of the Progressive Hair Dye Industry, for whom, with the help of Dr. Kindel, we have investigated the potential hazard of the use of a specific type of formulation containing lead. I asked him to issue the check directly for the services rendered by Dr. Kindel, and your Department, so as to avoid internal confusion.
The report, a copy of which is enclosed for your information, has met with considerable satisfaction among the sponsors, and has been accepted, apparently without question by the Food and Drug Administration in HEW. Just what this means in the official sense seems to require exploration in a direct conference with representatives of F.D.A., but I do not anticipate any great difficulty.
I am most grateful, as the person initially consulted by the sponsors,
for your sympathetic understanding, in getting the experimental
work under way.
t
With kindest regards,
Sincerely,
