TO-C-I (April, IV.151 American-e$>tai7dard Q.0 1 integral drafthood-prevents excessive updrafts or downdrafts Irom affecting proper combustion. Located at rear of jacket giving boiler a low over all height of 65' for all sizes. Z manual shutoff valvs- provides positive control of main gas supply to burners. 3 pilot filter--prevents dirt, gum or other foreign matter from clogging pilot tube or pilot. (Not supplied for LP-Gas.) 4 tappings--various tapping arrangements allow maximum flexibility in system piping. 5 |ackt-sturdy 20-gauge steel. Styled with mod ern, small radius corners and sprayed with harmonizing Forge Red hammer finish. Jacket encloses manifold, canopy and principal controls. 6 flue canopy--forms a gas-tight connection be tween boiler flue passages and drafthood. Can opy completely enclosed by boiler jacket 7 saloty valve--prevents steam pressure from ex ceeding 15 psi. Supplied as regular equipment on all steam boilers. t cleanout plates--easily removed cover plates provide ready access for cleaning flue surfaces with brush. Cleanout panel on jacket allows access to boiler sections without removing en tire boiler jacket. 3 sectiens-of durable cast iron. Each intermedi ate and center flue surface studded with over 1200 pinlike projections which absorb maximum heat from rising gases, transferring this heat to boiler water. 10 vestibule vent--permits unrestricted air circu lation through vestibule. 11 drain cocks--conveniently located on both right and left sides of boiler. 12 gas pressure regulator-maintains uniform gas pressure to mam burners regardless of pressure in outside gas lines. Equipped with venting de vice which is attached firmly to pilot burner. Not required for LP-Gas. 13 automatic gas valvo--A.G.A. listed, electrically operated, automatic diaphragm type valve. Can be manually operated and recycles automatically in case of current interruptions. 14 humors-- precision made and factory tested for quiet, economical operation with each type of gas. Cast iron, raised rib, drilled port burners regularly furnished for natural gas. Ribbon burners supplied for all other gases. 15 cast Iron base--firmly supports boiler sections and burners, facilitating installation. IS venturi mixer tube--induces proper velocity to gas and primary air. Adjustable air shutter assures correct mixture of gas and air for effi cient combustion. 17 automatic pilot switch--prevents flow of gas to main burners if pilot goes out. Special control for 100% safety shut-off supplied for LP-Gas and LP-Gas Air Mixtures (525-1400 Btu). II manifold--factory assembled and rigidly fas tened to base by cast iron clamps. Manifold com pletely enclosed by boiler jacket. 19 Insulation--heavy layer of fiberglass insulation for minimum heat loss through jacket. Cement ed lo inside of boiler jacket at factory. Z0 front Jacket panel--provides easy accessibility to burners and controls within boiler jacket. Quickly removed by simply turning the handnme cnrome-plated handles. oilers... for efficiency... economy... durability modern heating for large buildings Designed with all major components under the jacket enclosure, the American-Standard G-6 boiler is ideal for installations such as schools, apartments and office buildings where a large heating unit is required yet attractive appearance and compact size are desirable. By placing the drafthood at the rear of the boiler, the overall height of the G-6 is kept at a low 65" for all models--even the largest size. All manifold piping is also enclosed by the jacket thus presenting a clean, attractive appearance in any setting. The jacket itself is styled with small radius corners and sprayed with American-Standard's easy-to-clean Forge Red hammer finish. It can be assembled after all water or steam piping has been installed. Both right and left jacket end panels are identical for all sizes of boilers. fast, low-cost installation Simplicity of installation is one of the principal features of the new G-6 boiler. A cast iron base serves as the support for the boiler sections and burners, eliminating the need for propping the sections on wooden boxes or crates during assembly. The burners and mixing tubes are placed inside the boiler base and are rigidly supported at the correct height by a spacing bar. The boiler sections are then bolted together directly on the cast iron base. For time and labor saving installation, controls, valves, and control piping are sub-assembled at the factory. long life --economical operation Constructed of durable cast iron to ASME specifications, the boiler sections of the G-6 are designed to give years of efficient, dependable service. Nu merous pinlike projections--over 1200 on each center and intermediate section--stud the flue surfaces to extract the greatest possible heating value from the hot flue gases. These ~iany projections give the sections a heating area that could be equaled only by much larger flat-surfaced sections. And the multiple section design of the G-6 permits almost exact sizing of boilers in a wide range of installations. By varying the number of sections on the G-6 boiler, it is possible to obtain various inputs between 650,000 and 5,200,000 Btuh. The input per flue passage is 130,000 Btuh. Many optional outlet and return tappings are made available with G-6 boiler sections to provide maximum flexibility in system piping. mensions imchesj an nd vitw for all f RETURN BOTH ENOS ow ar 2 front vi#w (1S-4) Merton feoilort) front vlow (6-11 Mction boiUn} Boiler Number A B and c H approx.
