The monitoring was done to assure that the use of approved job procedures would result in acceptable airborne concentrations of asbestos. Monitoring results were within acceptable limits. The highest 8-hcur TWA potential exposure was 0.23 fibers/cc. All personnel within the restricted area wore the required protective equipment during asbestos removal. A front-end loader was used to remove the shingles from the sides of the building prior to demolition. The monitoring was done to assure that the use of an approved job procedure would result in acceptable airborne concentrations of asbestos. Monitoring results were within acceptable limits. The worker operating the front-end loader had a potential 8-hour time-weighted average exposure of 0.015 fibers/cc. The worker picking up rubble had a potential 8-hour TWA exposure of 0.06 fibers/oc. Area samples taken at the denpster box where the transite material was deposited resulted in asbestos ocncentraticns of 0.002 fibers/oc and 0.02 fibers/cc. All personnel within the restricted area wore the required protective equipment during asbestos removal. The results of the survey should be furnished to Rod & Sons, the contractor for this job.
