Further considerations in these regards are to be held before any recommendations can be presented tc the Institute for action. Included among the discus sions pursued were those related to the promotion of activities in the proscenium curtain fieldj the evaluation of properties of asbestos textiles manufactured by others than members of the Institute and the desirability oJ . directing efforts to have asbestos textile3 tested by the Atomic Energy Commission or soma other agency under conditions of atomic bomb tests -which aro currently under way, . Kelsey, Hanagor-Socretaryu Asbestos-Cement Products Association^ mho had been assigned the task of acting as central clearing point for the varic associations in Hie 'asbestos industry who might participato, advising that, his association had decided not to participate in.the industry- exhibit at the Department of Commerce* In view of this development^ it became apparent that the A.sbestos Textile Institute would be required to bear the major burden of the. exhibit if such was to be held. In light of these facts and neon reccmer.da.tion of the Board of Governors of the InstituteMr. Ual-csm raid Hr* Marshall were commissioned to confer with Hr, Harry Sharp e_, of me Department of Ccmmerce^ in an effort to resolve this problem.
