HIGHLIGHTS
Lead price now steady at 28$ Envirostrand sold to Associated Lead. Trials at Bepex resuming with top priority. Plant receives National Safety Council's Award of Commendation.

E. The Chicago Plant has received the National Safety Council's Award of Coimendation for working 618,56 6 man- hours since July, 1971, when OSHA started keeping records, without a disabling injury.

A. WAXED EXTRUDATES
The second round of trials on the Bepex Extructor is sched uled for the week of July 9 in Santa Rosa, Ca. Bepex has in dicated that if the equipment proves suitable, they could tollproduce for us on an interim basis in Minneapolis, Mn.
This is being pushed as top priority, in view of the sale of Envirostrand to Associated Lead.
B. GEORGIA- PACIFIC (ETHYL)
The customer has stated that their test method is the same as that used in Bridgewater. We therefore have no explanation for the gross differences in results obtained. We will consult with Bridgewater Teci service regarding the reproducibility of the test.

PPG's request for a sample of Lead Cyanamid has been put on hold at rhe request of R. F. Anderson.
D. PACKARD ELECTRIC
We have begun investigating the feasibility of instituting a Statistical Process Control System at the request of this customer.
E. TRIPS
J. F. Daly visited Pantasote, Lyall Electric, Essex and Easy Heat Wirekraft; and also attended a meeting of the LIA Oxides & Chemicals Committee.
V. GENERAL
A. DRYER
We have sent slurry samples to Niro Atomizer, Columbia, Md; C. E. Raymond, Naperville, II,-and Komline- Sanderson, Peapack, N. J. for their evaluation and recommendatioft of a suitable dryer.
B. LEAD SUPPLY
Currently Aaax and Asarco are quoting 28$ lead. All suppliers are still on strike, with no talks going on with the unions. Amax is attempting to run at half capacity with supervisory perionnel.
