Copy of your letter of August 12 and also the booklet entitled, "Methods for Determining Lead in Air and in Biological Materials" were sent to Tsumeb. In acknowledging, our associates have expressed disappointment in not receiving more specific, detailed information on procedures and their letter continues as follows: "We have had a copy of the brochure on methods that is put out by the American Public Health Association for many months. From what we can see, the Spectographic, Polarographic and Electric Photometer methods are all equally satisfactory. We, of course, can do either one of the three and it was my understanding that Dr. Kehoe would give us the detailed technique of the method that was in use in their laboratory and which they have found the most satisfactory. We ac tually prefer the polarographic method but we think that it is essen tial for purposes of having our results checked that we use the same method that is used in the laboratory at the University of Cincinnati. Would you, therefore, please inform Dr. Kehoe that we can do any of the methods covered in the pamphlet that he has sent us but we wish to know what method he is using and any special details concerning the same." We sincerely hope that you will give us full information on the preferred method so that they will be able to utilize the material sent and get the program under way.
