Deer Doctor Vac Sickle:
It baa indirectly been brought to our attention
through the Ethyl Gasoline Corporation, that a patient
of yaura, Kr.
reputedly has lead intox
ication from c d H S o ^ T R n leaded gasoline and I am
writing you to sk if you will not be so kind an to
let us have ooise of the facts on the case.
For a number of years we have interested our selves at this laboratory in the hygienic problems associated with the distribution of leaded gasoline and in connection with this, have mad it a point to investigate any eases of suspected lead poisoning arising from the commercial use of loaded fuel. To date we have found no experimental or clinical evidence that leaded gasoline, as it la ordinarily handled la commerce, will cause load poisoning or even measurable increases in lead absorption of people who handle it daily. W are therefore very much Interested in the reports on these oases when they da arise, particularly sine through our arrangements with the Surgeon General of the United States, we investigate these oases where indicated and report onr findings to him.
We would appreciate very much hearing from you about this men.
Very truly yours,
