the tfiVtivc life of lindane nicy be increased 10 to CO times,

field conditions with an insect of economic in'.|rortance to the
shade tree field.
The materials selected for testing were 25% lindane vreftahlc

eRedive on llie portilK masonite surfaces. ]{<\sidties of tlic chU>riual<>d pulyphonyl alone on aluminum surfaces caused no mortality.
Discussion'.--These tests showed that the per sistence of lindane ns a residue was greatly improved by incorporation into a film of chlorinated poly, phenyl. The lindane in the main hotly of the film remained in solution and aetcJ as a reservoir. As the lindane evaporated from llic surface il was continu
ally renewed hv a study diffusion of lindane fo this surface. Because the lindane remained in solution, there was no whit? powdery deposit, which often mars treated tin faces.
Tlic excel lent spreading pnipcrl ies of the solutions and the inertness and tenacity of the films suggest further uses in tlic field of cutomology, mid they arc being investigated.
