WRECKING CITY COURT OF'SAVANNAH Upon receipt of your letter of May 16th, I took up with Judge MacBonell and opposing counsel the question of passing this case from May 29th, to permit you to attend the scientific meeting in Cincinnati on that date, and asked the Court to fix a date on which he will be sure to try the case, and on which the case will have first preference as to trial. The Court agreed to the postponement, and fixed July 11th as the date of trial. This is the first day on which the Court will hear civil cases at Its July Term. This case will be the first case on the docket and I am sure it will be reached and tried on that date. live cannot, at this time, fix a date as late as September. We will therefore expect to try the case on July 11th and feel sure that all the testimony will he con eluded during that day and you will not be required to re main over any additional time, unless you wish to do so.
