Professor of Occupational Medicine University of California School of Health Berkeley, California Dear Dr. Tabershav: I'm sorry I miseed your presentation at the Vestern Industrial Health Conference last September; I've been told it was an excellent one. It was mentioned to me by a representative of our insurance carrier, that one of the speakers at the conference (he thought it vas you but couldn't remember for sure) had stated that research had been done on Tremolite and/or Actinolite. Since our Zonolite Vermiculite operations have exposures to these minerals I'm curious to know if this is a fact and whether anything has been published regarding such research. Much has been written on Chrysotile I know, but I've been unable to find anything on Tremolite and Actinolite as regards effects on health. Any information you can give me will be appreciated.
