Attention - Mr. Gardner Gentlemen:
fl
Today I was interrogate N^r a period of two hours
by an investigator from the Fep
rade Commission concern-
our relations and pertaining
'set-up as distributors
oi your company's products,
''seem to be interested parti-
cularly in:
(1) Whether or
id have any advantage over
any of our competi
ugh any special concession
in price. (2) Whether or t the neighborhood hardware stores
suffer anyt becaus as distributors we receive a lower
price than\ntie^
(3) WhetheY^-er^not we are handicapped through your
saleB of lead to paint manufacturers when bought in
large quantities.
The investigator had a list of about 20 questions which were prepared for him to ask.
Frankly I don't see how under the Robinson-Patman Act they can suppose to build up a case against the price set-up but he insisted upon seeing and making photostatic copies of invoices for white lead for -fiV8 years.
I am passing this information on to you so you can have some idea of what is taking place.
lours very truly,
/S/ T. A. FLYNN BUTLER-FLYNN PAINT CO.
