Langley Compliance Dear Mr. Stewart: RE: NESHAPS Notification Of Asbestos Removal DuPont, Victoria County, Texas E.I. DuPont De Nemours & Co. (Inc.), the owner, whose address is P.0. Box 2626, Victoria, Texas 77902, plans to remove approximately 700 square feet of asbestoscontaining insulation from two large vessels which have been removed from our low-density polyethylene plant. The vessels are located on the DuPont Victoria Plant site which is about ten miles south of Victoria, Texas, near State Highway 185. Work which involves asbestos is expected to start about the first of August, 1981 and to be completed within 20 days thereafter. The removal job will be supervised by DuPont personnel to insure that proper safeguards, work practices, and disposal procedures are followed. All asbestos will be "wetted" before handling. Respiratory protection will be worn as required. Proper hygiene and protective clothing will be worn. Caution signs will be appropriately placed to alert workers to the presence of asbestos and that necessary precautions must be taken to enter the area. All asbestos will be disposed of on the DuPont Victoria Plant in a disposal area registered by the Texas Department of Water Resources (Solid Waste Registration 30079). All asbestos will be placed in sealed plastic bags at the point of reaoVal and kept sealed during movement and disposal on site.
