This is to advise that we are agreeable to this request and effective with sales of zinc casting baghouse fume to American Chemet following March 1, 1967, the amended contract terms will apply. Owings SUBJECT - EAST HELENA BAG HOUSE FUME SHIPMENT TO AMERICAN CHEMET As you know, Wm. Porter requested the collection of 10 to 15 cars of fume Tor a backlog in case of a strike. This has been a normal pro cedure through several contract years. Your concern was the question of disposal of any fume cars loaded and on-hand during a strike. Bill and I have discussed the possible procedures as follows: 1. Any Fume cars that are loaded will be held in East Helena for for possible purchase by Chemet. If Chemet takes a car, any demmurage accumulated on that car will be for their account. If we know three days in advance of a strike, all Fume loaded during this three-day period can be held in East Helena to satisfy this procedure. 2. Bill will look into the possibility of leasing rail cars for the storage of our last three days' production. For any cars so held and not purchased by Chemet, the leasing charge will be for our account. It's quite possible that Bill's cost for leasing is less than current-strike demurrage charges.
