I did not return home until quite late in the evening, and it was not possible to get in touch with you. With reference to lead analyses on urine or blood, or both, I should be dealing with you quite dishonestly if I did not tell you that this is the only laboratory in this part of the country in which such work could be done with assurance of its accuracy. Some time ago we carried out some observations on some of the men who were exposed to gasoline containing lead in some ele vated concentrations. I am not just sore a3 to what lead exposure you have in mind at Wright Field at present, but if it has anything to do with leaded gasoline, I am at liberty to offer you our assistance without any cost. If the exposure arises from other circumstances, I should be glad to offer you our assistance if the job is not too extensive a one, and again without charge if It Is necessary, and certainly at a very nominal charge if it is best to arrange it in that fashion. In any case, if you are in position to tell me in some detail what your problem is, I shall give you ay best advice and I should be glad to assist you in any way we can. I would not even make mention of the question of a charge for any kind of governmental service, except for the fact, which will not be news to you, that our budget is not entirely elastic.
