Dear Jerry, Many thanks for your letter of 24 May referring to the Kettering Abstracts and lead paints. We look forward to receiving the 30 binders for Vol. 8 of Kettering Abstracts. We have circulated people who have been receiving Kettering Abstracts (over and above our basic 30 names) and the response so far has been slow. However, some have expressed willingness to pay the $25 annual subscription and we are hopeful of getting at least a modest increase to our mailing list. We will keep you posted about developments. Referring to lead paints, we have been well aware of the activities of Mr. Timmins for some time and usually know in advance (via Frank Porter on the zinc side) when he is likely to burst into print on lead problems. It has been policy for our major UK member - Associated Lead Manufacturers to handle these questions directly. Just to make sure that nothing has been overlooked I will pass the two papers which you sent on to ALM in case they wish to pursue any particular point.
