There has been a considerable delay about getting * the new translations completed, but I dare say the new books will arrive from Ray Sevan in the near future. The placards too, I think, will be printed in English and sent along to you. For this reason I think you should withhold any of the present Italian material which is in your hands. It is my understanding that the placards are particularly unsatisfactory and are not to be used. Those which have been put into use will be replaced by Mr, Bevan and hie associates as soon as the new ones are avail able The Spanish translation, as is apparently indicated, is fairly satisfactory. At least it is not misleading, I am getting together the necessary information with which to make the CQ necessary corrections, but in the meantime the placards O-i oQoO and the regulations, as translated, may be used since they are fairly satisfactory, o ' The bookieta which are to go with the o cans are also being revamped, and you will receive new supplies of them in due time. Meanwhile I consider it desirable to use those which f'Qu have. I have no vu explanation for the fact that no such booklets were in the cans which I found in Mexico City, unless it be that these had been ordered and shipped to Tampico before the inauguration of our new regime. Kehoe, November 8, 1935 Dear Dr. Kehoe: We hare your letter of November 4 advising that you have just returned from Mexico City in connection to inspection of a new mixing plant which is in the process of construction for the Anglo-Mexiean Petroleum Company. We are forwarding to you, under separate cover, four or five of the Spanish booklets and one of the Spanish placards which are of the original issue. To date the only corrected issues of foreigp placards or booklets we have received are of the French and German translations. With regard to distribution of these placards and booklets we were originally instructed to include in eductor sets those which corresponded to the language spoken at the destination of the shipment. When any doubt existed we included versions in one or two languages which we felt could be interpreted, as well as the English version'. In cases of extreme doubt we in cluded only the English. To the best of our knowledge we were instructed to with hold for correction only the French and English translations. In accordance with your request, we are today sending one of the placards in Spanish to Cia. Mex. de Petroleo El Aguila S. A., #92 Av. Juarez, Mexico, D. F. We assume that until correctedinstruetioris are made up it will be in order to send the present Spanish translations we now have to South American points temporarily, to be replaced later. . As to the fate of the small can booklets they have not been revised and we are still using the original booklets. We cannot understand how these booklets were omitted in the recent shipment of cans to Tampico, because since we began to include these booklets on can shipments we have made no exceptions. With regard!to the German situation abroad the latest information is that they will not be ready to start operation until the first of the year at the earliest However, we should have more definite information within the next two weeks at which time we will advise you further.
