Assistant Administrator Wehrum,
I hope all is well! On behalf of the Association of Air Pollution Control Agencies (AAPCA), I am writing to invite you to attend and present at AAPCA's 2018 Fall Business Meeting, which will be held September 17 - 19 in Raleigh, North Carolina. AAPCA represents more than 40 state and local air agencies, and senior officials from 20 state environmental agencies currently sit on AAPCA's Board of Directors. More information on the Association's upcoming meeting is available in the enclosed, formal invitation from 2018 AAPCA President Stuart Spencer, Associate Director for the Arkansas DEQ, and 2018 AAPCA Vice President Nancy Vehr, Air Quality Division Administrator for the Wyoming DEQ.
Regular attendance and participation by senior U.S. EPA officials at AAPCA's meetings has been greatly valued by the Association's membership. AAPCA's 2018 Spring Meeting provided the opportunity for more than 150 attendees, including senior air officials from nearly 30 state and local environmental agencies, to interface with U.S. EPA staff from the Offices of the Administrator, Air and Radiation, Enforcement and Compliance Assurance, as well as several EPA regions. AAPCA members would be particularly interested in hearing from you about recent and upcoming priorities for the Office of Air and Radiation, as well as opportunities for continued engagement on issues like NAAQS review and implementation, interstate transport, air toxics, and resource priorities.
Thank you for your consideration. Please let me know if you have any questions about AAPCA's 2018 Fall Business Meeting, or if we can provide any additional information.
