As you know, OSHA regulations spodfy that the dust level existing In our King City opera tion by below two fibers per cc after July 1, 1976. Based upon recent dust counts, the principle problems to In the main circuit bogging area. It appears that the next logical step In our dust control efforts should be to clearly define the baseline which can be ob tained In this area through extraordinary housekeeping procedures rather than engineering controls.
As we discussed, we should plan to thoroughly clean the bagging area during the scheduled August shutdown and then to carefully monitor dust levels during the ensuing month. Dur ing that month we should assign a man full time on the day drift to maintaining the level of cleanliness and pinpointing any problem areas which represent sources of dust emission. Second and third shift operators should also be cautioned to lake especial pains with house keeping during this test period. At the end of die one month we should have a good handle on the dust level which can be obtained without further capital Investments "
