Provide all materials, equipment, and labor required to treat asbestos ceiling surfaces and asbestos covered structural steel surfaces in the boiler rooms at various schools. XXIII DESCRIPTION OF WORK REQUIRED A. All asbestos ceiling surfaces and asbestos covered structural steel surfaces in the boiler rooms are to be treated with a sprayed on coating to prevent possible asbestos fall out by encapsulating the original material. B. Material to be used shall be: Hydro-Ban SOOE Polygard Asbestos Treatment manufactured by KRC Research Corporation, Moorestown, New Jersey Similar materials of other manufacturers may be used subject to the approval of the DIRECTOR OF PLANT MAINTENANCE. All materials are to be applied according to the manufacturer*e recommendations. The manufacturer's field engineer shall monitor the entire treatment. C. Area Preparation: All mechanical equipment, fans, piping, boilers, valves, etc., ere to be protected from possible asbestos fallout during application by ealing with plastic covers, tape, tech. All doorways leading to interior spaces shall be kept closed and sealed. D. Application: The material to be used shall be applied in accordance with all LOCAL, STATE ANE FEDERAL REGULATIONS concerning the protection of worker in an asbestos environment. E. Clean-Up: 1. Upon completion of the spraying, all wall and floor surfaces must be vacuumed to remove any possible asbestos residue.
