We are still endeavouring to improve our knowledge of the effective rate constants for micro-organism degradation, but it is extremely difficult to obtain values for the penta and higher chlorine homologues. If we add enough pentachlor to measure easily we seem to inhibit the degradation of many of the lower chlorine isomers.
