Recknor - SS-14 R. V. Sharp - PER The 2nd Quarter Safety and Housekeeping Inspection for Material Handling was conducted by the Inspection team of Jim McPhail, Mike Burkhalter, Bill Recknor and B. J. Sanders on April 16. The department was given a "good" rating. The following items were noted: Safety 1. AVIP up-to-date 100Z. 2. Interlock bypass procedure has only limited application but these are properly documented. 3. Fire extinguisher No. R-3 outdated. 4. Eye bath at Dock 3 needs repair. 5. Exposed asbestos on steam line at SM rack #10 spot. 6. PA rack loading arm steam leak - work order turned in. 7. Of the four shower/eye bath stations at Dock 1, two are complete, one has eye bath only, and one has shower only. These conditions should be corrected to maintain "complete" shower/eye bath stations. 8. Dock fire monitors need to be greased and painted red for I.D. 9. Dock 2 fire monitor needs valve wrench replaced. 10. Life rings at all docks needs manila rope replaced with nylon. 11. Dock 4 ammonia hose flanges need B-7 studs replaced with low temper ature bolts. 12. Electrical outlet at sulfuric acid rack needs cover near platform #2 and safety shower. SC 000333 LAM001530 13. Eye bath valve in Lactic Acid warehouse needs to be replaced (too much slack). Housekeeping 1. Pavement at CTR has bad area which needs attention before major repair is required. 2. Trash and litter between C02 tanks. 3. Dock 1 slop tank basin has litter. 4. Dock 3 electrical repair has scaffold rigged for over a week. 5. Dock 5 acetone loading swivel is leaking at packing seal.
