By private correspondence I have learned from the Census Bureau that tike number of companies covered by their statistics totals 98 whereas by actual count the com panies covered by the Bureau of nines report total seven for 1931. Uy conclusions are, as the table indicates, the amount of lead in oil aold by companies who are not mem bers of the Lead Industries Association Is very small, in 1933 I believe the tonnage was negligible and for earlier years varied between 5 and &i per cent.
