Although he was work ing approximately fifty-six hours a week during the spring of 1969, he filed an Illinois Industrial Workmen's Compensation Claim against National Lead Company, Hoyt Plant, of Granite City, Illinois, claim ing complete disablement from lead poisoning. Later in August 1969 he was hospitalized at Cochran Veteran's Hospital in St. Louis, We are attaching medical reports^obtained from the hospital. T' After studying; these reports and knowing that Mr. Latchison has had these existing symptoms of speech impediment, tremors, slow walk, etc. since he began employment with National Lead on July 16, 1951,;I feel that this employee could possibly have a nervous disorder such as multiple sclerosis or some degenerative condition. I -would like to send this man to you for hospitalization, exami nation, and diagnosis. Please send me an appointment date, time, and location.
