March 31, 2017 Environmental Protection Agency Mr. Scott Pruitt, Administrator Mail Code 28221 T 1200 Pennsylvania Ave. NW Washington, DC 20460 Dear Mr. Pruitt; Congratulations on your appointment as Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency. I would like to invite you to be the keynote speaker at the North Dakota Petroleum Council's Annual Meeting on either September 27 or 28, 2017 in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Our attendees would be greatly interested in your vision and approach to the environmental protection and regulation of America's oil and gas industry. North Dakota is the nation's 2nd largest oil producer, the 6th largest energy producing state, and a top ten producer of coal, ethanol, wind and our agriculture industry leads the nation on the production of many crops. It's no surprise, the energy industry along with the State of North Dakota and most our state's citizens have an extremely negative opinion ofthe U.S. Environmental Protection Agency; your visit to North Dakota can be a much-needed reset and a fresh start down a new path toward working together for benefit of our state and country. I believe your appointment to this position with the election of a new President who wants to expand and develop our country's energy and natural resources while ensuring responsible environmental regulations and enforcement is the critical first-step. The North Dakota Petroleum Council represents more than 500 companies in all aspects of the oil and gas industry, including oil and gas production, refining, pipeline, transportation, mineral leasing, consulting, legal work, and oilfield service activities in North Dakota. Once again, we would be honored to have you as the keynote speaker at our Annual Meeting in September. Thank you for any consideration; please contact me with any questions.
