HEI Statement Russell Research Report 195.pdf Dear HEI Sponsors: I write to follow up on the advance news that HEI will be releasing the latest of HEI's Accountability studies at www.healtheffects.org on April 19, 2018. After a number of national and state air pollution control measures taken in and around Atlanta, Dr. Armistead (Ted) Russell and colleagues from Georgia Institute of Technology and Emory University examined whether such regulations targeting power plants and mobile sources were effective in reducing pollutant emissions, improving air quality, and ultimately improving health. Their comprehensive report, Impacts of Regulations on Air Quality and Emergency Department Visits in the Atlanta Metropolitan Area, 1999-2013, finds interesting and valuable results of what these measures accomplished; I have also attached an advance copy of the HEI Statement summarizing the study and its results. As I noted last week, we are planning a webinar with Dr. Russell at 1 PM on the 19th. The webinar link and call in details are below.
