INTERNATIONAL JOINT COMMISSION 7th BIENNIAL MEETING OCTOBER 21 ~ 24. 1993 WINDSOR. ONTARIO The following summarizes staff activity in preparation for the upcoming meeting of the International Joint Commission. A detailed report on the issue will be presented at the Board meeting. 1. July 23 - Preparation of vinyl industry assessment of two volume draft report of the Virtual Elimination Task Force for the two industry representatives on the VETF (Dow Canada and Georgia Pacific). These industry representatives met in late July with IJC staff; some minor reordering of the final report resulted from this meeting. 2. July - Preparation of "One-Pager" fact sheet for use by lobbyists and others on the issue. 3. August 6 - Memo to Executive Board soliciting "good news stories" from the vinyl industry for inclusion in a Council of Great Lakes Industries report to the IJC. 4. August 6 - Memo to Executive Board soliciting member company representatives for assistance in state and federal government relations outreach activity. Companies were also asked to nominate their quarterback on this issue to assure that all vinyl industry activity will be done in a coordinated fashion with the Chlorine Coordinating Council and the Council of Great Lakes Industries.
