Due to the recent increase in asbestos counts on the 6-13 and 6-33 g rin d ers,.w e feel that we have to apply ad m in istrative co n tro ls to both g rin d e rs,T h is means that no one operator can operate e ith e r machine fo r more than four(4) hours. The p rin c ip le involved in t h is procedure is that no one may have a 8 hour average of 2.0 fib e rs or over in one day. I f we work an operator fo r 4 hours on an operation which is in excess o f 2.0 we must fin d him a job on a operation which is le ss than 1.0 fo r the remainder o f the 4 hour day. We re a liz e that his presents some problems but we cannot operate under the present conditions by law. We w ill continue to monitor these sta tio n s and w ill advise you as soon as a change occurs in the condition. In the meantime, i t might be helpful to have a ta lk with the operators and le t them know the importance o f the cleanup and clean out procedures and that i f sloppy work h ab its continue, they could be d is q u a lifie d .
