OSHA Progress Report - June, 1983
1. Summaries of personnel and area monitoring conducted during the month are presented in the attached tables and figures-
2. In preparation for our experiment with VCM badges, Paul Zakriski and Tom Turner have been meeting with the operators to explain the details of the program and its objectives.
3. Lead exposure, while running compound product number 87302, is still -high. The recipe ingredients are all dry and dusting is much worse than normal. Compound is trying to reduce exposure by running the product on the CKL rather than the Banbury, improving spot ventilation at the Farrel, and improving the Farrel feed hopper seal. We will continue to monitor exposure.
4. ALTC is still evaluating the effects of running compound ' materials with tin maleate. Employees are reporting nausea and eye, nose and throat irritation. We continue to monitor their studies.
