WHITEHEAD WARRICK.Ol RE: MARINITE 'HANDLING IN BUILDING 134 The Industrial Hygiene Committee, had discussed the dust problems associated with-Marinite'handling in several of its meetings. It has often been stated that the ventilation systems would be improved. While some progress has been made the Job is obviously not yet complete. The Committee would, like to have you give us a firm target date for completion of this job because the dust itself-is a health hazard. In the meantime and until the ventilation system is made adequate the Committee must insist that a MSA Dust-Foe Mask (this is a Store's stock item) must be worn by the operator of the radial arm saw and the table saw when cutting and by the operators of any other equipment where excessive Marinite dusting occurs. The use of the mask is a temporary measure and if the ventilation Is improved we should certainly consider lifting this restriction. nt R.
