I have talked with Dr. Lewi a t great length and also corresponded with him regarding the proposition s e t fo rth in h is various reports. He Beems to have an ax to grind with the re s t of the medical profession and much of the world a t large* While:his reports would indicate wonderful success in the treatment of hay -fever and asthma at .the General Electr i e Company in 1925, I do not re c a ll th a t Sr.* Smith nor any of the re st -of us were so enthusiastic about the results* I t strik e s me th a t hiB having been allowed to carry on th is work was a mistake th at may prove somewhat embarrassing to cover up. Without going into the m erits of his treatment i t seems to me th a t any method o f genuine -merit would have been taken more kindly to -.and would have found its place in medical armamentoria. . w ithin a period Of fiv e or six years especially when exhorted by one so enthusiastic as h r. Lewi* I believe i t was in February when he f i r s t approached me on the subject of obtaining Hr*. H arris In Dr -Levi's l e t t e r to you of June 20th he intim ates that he would like to carry on h is experimental work here again th is year while in h is l e t t e r to Mr. Swope he s ta te s th a t he would like to get answers from a l l of the cases treated in 1925 and he would presB the Social Service Department of the various plants to make contact with the p a tie n ts treated-B ix years ago.
