Exhibit 1752 is a 1956 memorandum which refers to a visit that a Monsanto executive had with Dr. Oettel of the BASF Company. Exhibit 1486 refers to the letters that BASF sent in 1957 to all American manufacturers. I do not know the author of this exhibit but it came from Monsanto's files. Exhibit 2187 refers to the statement of Dr. Oettel and his belief at that time. Exhibit 1760 is a r by Dr . Sus kind for the Monsanto Company whi ch on page 8 ref er s to a finding the German sc ientist in 1957 that the agent in th e materi is dioxin and Exhibit 18 00 is a transl at ion of a German article appea ring in 196 1 which refers to the ear 1ier findings (page 10) that the chemical engine er ing process could be modi fied so as to avoid the format ion of these dioxins and that they have been using that pro ces s in the plant without any symptoms of intoxi tion of any sort in the workers.
