Stewart: The Celanese Chemical Company, Inc., plant at Bishop is planning to conduct a renovation on one of its power boilers. Boiler No. 11 needs replacing of the insulation- around the preheater. This renovation work will start February 4, 1983. Since the boiler is insulated with friable asbestos insulation, the insulation will be removed as the first step and landfilled in the designated asbestos landfill located on the plant site. All precautions outlined in 40 CFR 61.20 - 61.25 will be observed. All new insulation will be of the non-asbestos type. This letter will serve as notification of this work, as required by 40 CFR 61.22 (d) (2). The attached data sheet lists all the pertinent data.
